Ansty Park gears up for a bumper 2014
Ansty Park, the 1.5 million sq ft research and development park, adjacent to Junction 2 of the M6 at Coventry, is gearing up for significant development activity during 2014, the first phase of which is the commencement of a £1.2 million infrastructure programme.

Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd are undertaking the works with Mace project managing on behalf of the owners Homes and Communities Agency.

Steve Holland, Head of Asset Management at Homes and Communities Agency, explained: “These infrastructure works will complete the spine road and enable development on the eastern side of Ansty Park, the location for a new £60 million high-temperature research centre that is to be built as a joint collaboration between the University of Birmingham and Rolls-Royce once the infrastructure works are completed in February. This building will be used to develop future generations of aero engines and is being funded through a £40 million investment by Rolls-Royce, matched by a £20 million government grant through the Higher Education Funding Council for England.”

“As well as enabling the construction of this 65,000 sq ft building these infrastructure works are also part of the gearing up process to enable further development which we will be in a position to announce shortly.”

Ansty Park is already home to two other major occupiers. The world renowned Manufacturing Technology Centre is a 120,000 sq ft facility which was developed in response to the Government’s manufacturing strategy which has now secured 61 private sector members including Rolls-Royce, AEC and Sandvic.

Sainsbury’s occupy 168,000 sq ft at the entrance to Ansty Park as their Store Support Centre accommodating 1,000 of Sainsbury’s senior and creative staff in state-of-the-art buildings.

Homes and Communities Agency are working with developer Highbridge Properties and their property consultants Cushman and Wakefield  to deliver when completed 1.5 million sq ft of accommodation at this 100 acre technology park.
